About Us
Reagan Christine Mission Statement
The Reagan Christine Memorial Fund exists to provide scholarship awards and support community endeavors that offer resources to children in the Estacada and Lakeview, Oregon communities. Our mission includes yearlong fundraising in a loving and fun manner that keeps the loving spirit of Reagan Christine in our hearts and homes.
Our Story
We are Gregg, Lisa, and Delaney Alves, and we’d like to share our journey. We chose to settle in
Estacada in the fall of 2007, shortly after the birth of our second daughter, Reagan Christine. At
that time, Delaney was nine years old and began fourth grade at Clackamas River Elementary.
However, our story begins long before this.
Gregg and I married in 1995 and welcomed Delaney into our lives in 1998. After a couple of
years, we were eager to grow our family. Unfortunately, it was much more challenging the
second time around, and we endured the heartbreak of seven miscarriages before our luck
finally changed. We were overjoyed to be pregnant with Reagan. Born on May 19, 2007,
Reagan's arrival was fraught with complications that threatened both her life and mine. In a
remarkable turn of events, Reagan made a move that saved us both, and she was born a
healthy baby. Given the rarity of such an outcome, the nurses affectionately dubbed her our
“Angel Baby.”
Reagan was a spirited child who completed our family beautifully. We spent the following years
immersed in the activities that bind families—school, sports, coaching, work, creating
memories, and loving and supporting one another. Tragically, our lives took an unimaginable
turn.
We were devastated to lose our sweet Reagan in a car accident on May 31, 2021, just 12 days
after her fourteenth birthday. She had spent that day joyfully with friends, basking in the warm,
sunny weather. She texted us moments before the accident to say she was almost home.
Minutes later, our worst fears were realized—Reagan never made it home. Our Angel Baby had
gone to heaven.
Reagan touched every life she encountered, be it animals, people, or especially the underdogs.
She was highly competitive, intelligent, and fiercely loyal to her loved ones. She approached
everything with tenacity and passion, never leaving a room without expressing her love.
Descriptions of her often include words like devoted, brilliant, intense, perceptive, headstrong,
free-spirited, and a tender-hearted leader.
In honor of her spirit, we established the Reagan Christine Memorial Fund. Our goal is to raise
funds to assist the underserved and deserving children in the Estacada and Lakeview, Oregon
communities. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, and 100% of your donations are tax-deductible.
Thank you for taking the time to listen and for helping us continue Reagan’s mission to lovingly
support others. EIN: 87-4135241
Who We Are The Board
Founders: Gregg, Lisa, and Delaney Alves
The Reagan Christine Memorial Fund was established in the wake of the sudden loss of our
daughter and sister. Reagan came into our lives like a hurricane and left the same way. Her
impact on our lives in her short 14 years inspired us to keep her memory alive. Surrounded by
the love and support of our friends and family, we host an annual fundraiser on our property in
Estacada, Oregon every May. It’s an opportunity to remember our loved ones in Heaven, not
only for us but for everyone in our community and in our hearts.
Gregg Alves
Gregg was born in San Jose, California, and relocated to Lakeview, Oregon, as a young child,
living there until he graduated in 1987. During his college career, he fought wildfires, taught ski
lessons, and had a short stint in the criminal justice sector before settling into his role with Les
Schwab Tire Centers. Gregg retired from Les Schwab in 2018 to spend more time with his
family and currently works for the City of Happy Valley. He enjoys time spent on the farm with
his family and friends.
Lisa Alves
Lisa was born in Corvallis, Oregon, and was raised in Hillsboro, Oregon. She met Gregg while
attending Western Oregon State College, and they were married in 1995. Lisa has enjoyed a
long career in the mortgage business and continues her role as a mortgage broker today. She
has spent much of her time volunteering at the girls' schools, served on the Estacada School
Board for four years, and enjoys landscaping and time at the ocean.
Delaney Taylor
Delaney Taylor was born in Tualatin, Oregon, and spent her first nine years in Renton,
Washington, due to her dad’s new store. Her sister, Reagan, was born there in 2007, and the
family moved to Estacada that year, where Delaney started fourth grade. Delaney dove right
into every opportunity at school, playing basketball, running cross country, and getting involved
in student council and the Spanish Honor Society. She volunteered for various activities and
participated in student leadership opportunities that took her to Washington D.C. and Berkeley
in the Bay Area. Delaney graduated in the top 10 of her class and went to Oregon State
University, where she excelled and graduated in 2020 with a degree in merchandising. She
currently works for Nike Digital as a supervisor for Nike.com.
